So Far So Brilliant
Ahead of the game tomorrow I am excited about what a game it could be!
Where do I start ?
Some great performances by both teams so far and in my view such different playing styles from two very different teams. The England team have played some excellent tactical football, I think the influence of Phil Neville has certainly had an impact. I have watched the USA team play many times prior to this game and the football they play has always been brilliant and in terms of fitness, one could never fault them especially in dedication to that part of their game.
I have had conversations with fellow football fans today and we have all come to the conclusion that we can’t call tomorrows result. We are so excited for the game and think this World Cup has been simply a huge success for many reasons. For me it has mirrored the huge change in attitudes to the women's game.
I know there have been some ups and downs in this World Cup like the role of VAR but this is no different to the changes in the game played by the men.
But we must remember there has been some awesome performances. We have seen some surprise exits by teams we thought would still be there, I for one thought we would still see Japan or China, The Netherlands have never got to a semi-final so, good for them but we have lost Germany and France also giants in the women's game. Marta and Brazil what a loss, her interview after the game was just so uplifting... England's game against Norway was such a great game, with some brilliant goals , Lucy Bronze :-) what can I say but an excellent performance by two fantastic sides.
So I for one can't wait for the semi-finals and all I can think is that who dares wins.
